Furniture – Early 90’s

In Training
During the early part of the 80’s I left my contracting career, returning to school to study furniture design and construction. At two different schools across 6 years I studied, sketched, built and finished numerous pieces of furniture. I was fortunate to have 9 wonderfully different teachers during that 6 years and learned something unique from each that I have been able to assemble into my individual process.

I experimented with wood, steel, concrete, aluminum, bronze, plaster and wax to create these objects. This was certainly my start as an artist. I worked with various ideas creating these pieces but in the end I was left pursuing the notion that it was possible to make marvelous and durable objects using only common materials like fiberboard, plaster, steel and concrete.
